The beautiful chaos of family life

We are the Brannies — a close-knit family of four who love hanging out together.

You’ll usually find us hiking, cooking, frolicking or discovering new places. Lego projects sprawl across our floors, crafts appear on every surface, and ice creams and Star Wars fill many afternoons.

Parenting, we’ve learned, is a rollercoaster.

It brings some of the most joyful moments of life — and some of the toughest. Our journey took us from bonny Scotland to Sweden where we experienced Scandinavian family life and back to Scotland.

As parents we’ve lived through silly dance parties in the living room, soulful family meals around the table as well as the inevitable meltdowns, tears and squabbles. Many ups, many downs. You never quite know what’s coming next.

What we do know is this: when we intentionally spend quality time together, everything feels better.

Why we created Games on Toast?

Over the years, we realised how deeply we all benefit from shared moments of connection — moments that are playful, meaningful, and screen-free. That’s why we created Games on Toast.

Our mission is to help families everywhere create more pockets of quality time together.

We hope Games on Toast becomes a positive force in your family life, bringing you and your loved ones closer together and gently loosening the grip of screens that so often pull us apart.

Our Team

AGNES

Captain + Wellbeing Coach

A master planner, aspiring minimalist, and hiker.

I studied Psychology and became an accredited transformational coach, specialising in self-care. For the past 18 years, I’ve used my superpower of empathy to design mental-health interventions and wellbeing projects across charities, the tech sector, and universities — blending technology with in-person experiences to support healthier and happier lives at home and at work.

As the captain of Games on Toast, I pour my heart and knowledge of psychological wellbeing into every game we create, hoping to spark deeper, more meaningful moments of connection for families everywhere.

ART

Scientist + Game Designer

An academic, family chef, and lifelong experimenter.

My path led me to a PhD in Quantum Physics and into tackling sustainability challenges, always guided by a belief that science should improve everyday life and protect our beautiful, precious planet.

I’m passionate about plant-based cooking, the gut microbiome, stoic philosophy, and running.

Through Games on Toast, I write and produce playful experiences inspired by our wonderfully messy daily life and the science of a good, regenerative life — hoping you’ll have fun, feel inspired, and maybe even have a wee giggle along the way.
